Make It, Made It

I was reflecting on the idea of success, or “making it.” How do we determine success? How many views, likes, plays, fans, or money does it take for us to be successful? How do we know if we’ve “made it.” Perhaps we’re there the exact moment we’ve created something. I don’t think it’s just semantics – if you’ve made something, then you’ve made it. I’m going to start shifting my mindset this way. I wrote a blog post. I wrote a song. I made it! Someone might ask, “You made it? Like you’re getting paid for your work? You’re famous? You can quit your day job?” No, I made it. I created something. I’m responsible for something that now exists in the world where it didn’t before. I made it. I think it’s a perspective shift that could be really powerful.
